Senior network engineer and technical leader managing complex network architecture, security infrastructure, and strategic improvements across enterprise and data center environments. Leads network team, drives automation, and ensures high availability and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Architecture and Design:
Lead design and deployment of enterprise networks with Cisco Catalyst 9300X and Nexus 9300/9500 ACI fabrics. Architect software-defined networking solutions with Cisco DNA Center. Integrate advanced routing (BGP, MPLS) and network segmentation. - Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Management:
Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis on escalated network, firewall, and security incidents. Analyze traffic flows and logs across Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto PA-3410 firewalls, and Array Networks ADC/Anti-DDoS devices. Lead incident resolution and post-mortem documentation. - Firewall and Security Operations:
Architect, enforce, and audit policies on Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto PA-3410 firewalls managed via Panorama. Oversee IDS/IPS, advanced threat prevention, URL filtering, DNS security, Wildfire integration, and SD-WAN security features. - Load Balancer and ADC Optimization:
Manage Array Networks AVX7800 ADCs with SLB and WAF modules, perform multi-tenant capacity planning, license management, and security signature updates. - Anti-DDoS Defense Management:
Lead management of Array Networks ASF2800 Anti-DDoS systems and DDoS mitigation software. Ensure continuous threat defense via proactive monitoring and software subscription updates. - Team Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead L1 and L2 network teams, providing technical guidance, training, and escalation support. Coordinate cross-team collaboration with cybersecurity, systems, and application groups. - Automation and Orchestration:
Drive automation for provisioning, monitoring, and reporting using scripting and orchestration tools, reducing manual overhead and enhancing network reliability. - Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans incorporating Cisco, Array Networks, and Palo Alto infrastructure components. - Vendor & Contract Management:
Oversee vendor relationships and manage Gold Support contracts and multi-year licenses/subscriptions for Array Networks and Palo Alto Networks devices and software. - Documentation & Reporting:
Ensure thorough and up-to-date documentation of network design, device configurations, incident handling, and support contracts. Deliver reports on network health and upcoming upgrade initiatives.
Technical Expertise:
- Cisco Catalyst 9300X and 9200L Series switches with DNA Advantage licensing and advanced stacking modules
- Cisco Nexus 9300/9500 Series switches, including ACI-based fabric deployments and associated hardware modules
- Cisco Firepower 3100/3110 NGFW appliances with integrated Threat Defense, Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), and FMC management
- Enterprise-grade load balancers and traffic management systems
- Advanced routing protocols including BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Strong knowledge of network segmentation, DDoS, QoS, NIPS, VIP, VPNs, and NAT configurations
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages for orchestration
- Familiarity with Cisco APIC Cluster management and HPE-DL380 Gen 11 server integration
- Daily operational tasks for external firewall management include reviewing threat logs, applying signature updates, monitoring VPN tunnels, and tuning policies on Palo Alto PA-3410 devices.
- ADC and Anti-DDoS appliances require routine capacity checks, software patching, license renewals, and performance tuning.
- Team lead duties include resource planning, prioritization of escalations, training coordination, and driving process improvements aligned with ITIL best practices.
