Oracle SDM(Service Delivery Manager) Job Description:
Drive:
We need a driven leader who thrives on exceeding a demanding customer’s expectations. This is definitely a challenging role. But it’s also a rewarding role for those with the highest standards of excellence who pride themselves in leading teams to overcome adversity.
Curiosity
We need someone who is not afraid to meet with Meta Engineering, ask questions, try different ways of working, and find new ways to improve Meta’s systems and processes. They need to be curious about their teams, trying to find out who is contributing and how, trying to learn who needs help and why, and considering feedback from others to learn and continually improve.
Accountability/Results-orientation
We need someone with experience leading teams to productive outcomes. Working in an outsourcing environment with a newly built team means our leaders need to get into the weeds with the whole team to learn who is able to produce results and who isn’t. Performance management should come naturally to them. There are ways to do this that result in the entire team excelling as everyone knows “the rising tide lifts all boats.” We can do this here by instilling pride in our work and being recognized for the value we create for Meta.
Client management experience
Honestly, I have found that, when someone excels in #1 through #3 above, that takes care of half of the problem. Meta notices when an SDM is doing those things, and they appreciate it. The numbers speak for themselves, and it makes the client relationship much easier. That said, we do need this SDM to be able to exude confidence when working with the client, to be able to create presentations that are easy to consume, and to speak clearly and succinctly when presenting to senior leaders. This certainly makes my life a hell of a lot easier because I spend a lot of time trying to do this for my SDMs right now.
Oracle Experience
This will be 70-80% of what they do. This team is Oracle, o9, and Mulesoft. While the o9 is growing, the most challenging area here is the Oracle space. The small Mulesoft footprint, is largely self managing, and works well already w/the Meta FTEs.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)/Agile Development experience
Manage team members through planning meetings, daily standups, and retrospectives. Supply Chain Experience. Experience that has a strong back ground in Supply Chain (specific to Oracle) would be extremely needed.
Experience : Band: B3& C1(Overall exp 7-15+yrs)
